A conversation with author Luís Lázaro Matos

I had recently helped with the translation, editing and proofreading of the author’s picture book, The Pond Skater. The book won 2022 The Most Beautiful Swiss Books award.

The client

Kodoji press is a non-profit independent art publishing house specialising in contemporary art and photography and based in Baden, Switzerland. It operates as a non-profit-oriented project, publishing high-quality, limited edition art books. Its publications often feature bilingual or multilingual text.

The project

The book is a large-format picture fable featuring intricate artwork and storytelling. Once the team of us had translated, edited and proofread the manuscript, I then translated an interview with the author from Portuguese into English, and subsequently proofread the PDF version before going to print.
